Open Forum Session C: Jobs for Youth, Skills for Companies
Date: Thursday 26 April 12 - 04:45 pm to 05:45 pm
Type: Interactive sessions
Vocational training plays a key role in providing the skills, knowledge and competences that European companies need to remain innovative and competitive. Statistics show that systems with dual learning paths have significantly less early school leaving and lower youth unemployment rates. Those systems seem to be able to raise the employability rate of young people and better serve the need for qualified workers from industry. Based on their practical experience participants discuss the different aspects of the benefits the dual education systems can give to companies, the state and the work force but also the challenges to overcome in order to make dual education systems work.
